A Fresh Voice for Our City

Campaign Hero

My Bio

Heather Deitchman is a longtime Palm Beach Gardens resident, educator, and community advocate running for City Council Group 3. She’s passionate about bringing fresh ideas, being open and honest, and really listening to what neighbors have to say. With experience as a program director, Heather understands how to combine strategic planning, relationship building, and data to make fully informed decisions that benefit the whole community. A former foster parent and dedicated advocate for protecting Plant Drive Park, she knows firsthand the importance of caring for others and standing up to preserve what makes our city special.

My Key Issues

Protecting our parks, preserving our community.

Free and accessible green spaces are vital for a healthy, vibrant city. I’m committed to ensuring a balance between open public areas for everyone and high-quality recreational facilities that serve all residents now and for future generations.

Increasing transparency and amplifying resident voices.

With almost no workshops or special sessions, residents are often left out of key discussions. I’m committed to opening up the process, holding more accessible workshops and hearings, and creating real opportunities for meaningful input so every resident has a voice in shaping our city’s future.

Championing accountability through informed questions.

Good decisions come from clear facts and a thorough understanding. I’m committed to not just asking the first round of questions but digging deeper when answers are incomplete. Residents deserve confidence that decisions are based on facts and careful scrutiny, and I will champion that level of accountability in every discussion.

Collaborating for a stronger Palm Beach Gardens

I’m committed to putting Palm Beach Gardens’ interests first while building stronger communication and collaboration with Palm Beach County. We’ve made progress, but deeper partnerships—not just occasional coordination—are key to getting the best results for our residents.

Quality of Life & Workforce Housing

Palm Beach Gardens launched a workforce housing initiative in 2020, but so far, the developments approved have included only minimal amounts of units. Heather believes the city can do better. She’s committed to making sure Palm Beach Gardens is a place where first responders, teachers, and others in helping professions can afford to live and be part of the community they serve.
